I decided that my 1970 TR6 was going to get finished and on the road, So the TR6 went to a body shop in Crevillente, not far from where I live, to have a re spray. While it was there I decided to clean and paint all the parts off the chassis because a lot of the suspension components and some of the engine ancillaries developed surface rust due to standing for the last 14 years. The components were stripped down, bushes, gaiters etc. were replaced. The brake and clutch master cylinders were stripped down OK 'd and reassembled with fresh lubrication or replaced if necessary. The parts were cleaned up, repainted, then reassembled back on the car. Underside of the floor and chassis was thick with dust, which was cleaned up and polished. The exhaust system which is Stainless Steel looked very rusty but, as it turned out was minor. That too was was taken off, It cleaned up quite well. With regard to replacement parts, a lot of time has been wasted due to waiting for the delivery of them. If I had been more organised and ordered the parts all together initially it would have saved a lot of time and money for the postage, which was expensive.
